Binary Digits

BINARY DIGITS

Binary digits may seem hard for someone to read, but if you understand the first step of it, you will realize how easy it is.

Binary digits are used for programming, the word "bit" that we use in computers came from the words Binary and Digits.

Binary digits consist of only 2 numbers: 0 and 1.
The 2 numbers will increase only by using their values to count number. Here is an example:

00 = 0    (00 is the binary digits, and 0 on the right is the Arabic number)
01 = 1    (01 is the binary digits, and 1 on the right is the Arabic number)

Notice how the number 0 is counted as 0, no changes, then 1 is also counted as 1. Now in order to have number 2 in Arabic numbers, we will need to increase the 0 and 1 by using the same value. So it will be as follows:

10 = 2    (10 is the binary digits, and 2 on the right is the Arabic number)

In the first example, we used 00 for 0, then we added 1 to it, so it became 01. Now we are not gonna add 2 to 00, instead we will need to find the possible next number that can be used by 0 and 1.

00 - 01 - 10    (correct)
00 - 01 - 02    (incorrect)

The pattern continues...

00 = 0
01 = 1
10 = 2
Now the next possible way to use these 2 numbers will be 11:
11 = 3

Notice now that there are no more possible ways we can think of by using only 0 and 1. We have used them all on 4 examples. Once there is no possible way, we will add a new digit, which is another 0. So it will look like this:

000 = 0    (No matter how many zeros you have, if the binary digit is 0, the Arabic number will always be 0)
001 = 1    (Having 001 is same as having 01, because both ways will return the value of 1 in Arabic numbers)
010 = 2    (Again, 10 and 010 will return the value of 2 in Arabic numbers)
011 = 3

Now, since we have a third digit (0), it gives us more possible ways to create new numbers. So after 011 the next possible way using only 0 and 1 will be 100

100 = 4
And so on...
101 = 5
110 = 6
111 = 7    (This will be the last possible way for the 3 binary digits, so now we will need to add a new zero)

123 - 132 - 213 -231 - 312 - 321
(You can see how we used all 1, 2, and 3 to make all these possible ways to create different numbers)

Moving on to the next level, another 0:

0000 = 0                 0101 = 5                 1010 = 10                 1111 = 15
0001 = 1                 0110 = 6                 1011 = 11
0010 = 2                 0111 = 7                 1100 = 12
0011 = 3                 1000 = 8                 1101 = 13
0100 = 4                 1001 = 9                 1110 = 14

This is how Binary digits pattern go. Once you run out of all the possible ways, you add a new 0 to the numbers, so this mean that number 16 will start with 10000. And so on...

Can we use letters in Binary Digits?
Yes we can. After number 9, programmers start to use A, B, C, D, E, and F to make programming easier. For example, if you want to use 1010, you can replace it with A. 1011 is replaced with B. 1100 is replaced with C. 1101 is replaced with D. 1110 is replaced with E and 1111 is replaced with F.
